~ Og himmelen åpnet seg, og hun så en stige av blinkende gull
som rakk fra himmelen og helt ned til jorden
Engler med palmegrener i hendene knelte på trinnene
og øverst stod et lite barn i skinnende hvit skjortel
med et forunderlig lys strålende om pannen
Og mens barnet langsomt gikk nedover til henne
brøt det løs et helt vær av klokkeklang
som jublet fra alle de klokker som var til
Englenes lovsang vokste til et kor så mektig
at Sonja syntes det måtte høres over hele jorden
Og se, der kom julestjernen dalende som en deilig, blinkende sol
Og med all himmelens herlighet skinnende om seg
Sonja reiste seg og gikk barnet i møte med åpne armer
nesten blendet av det skjelvende lyshavet som strømmet mot henne
Da barnet tok stjernen og la den i hendene hennes
var det som om skogen sank under henne
og hun så like inn i Guds strålende himmel ~
